Kelly Schofield, the owner and trainer of Milford’s StrongasKell, promotes health and fitness in a way that is anything but traditional. While many fitness programs focus on pushing participants, StrongasKell does it differently starting with a holistic approach to health and wellness. For me, that is something that is wonderful, because I grew up torturing my body with various workouts and struggling because I wasn’t “strong enough.” However, the StrongasKell program definitely offers the reset many women — myself included — need.
Kelly took some time to answer questions for us, and after reading them, I will say that I was inspired to look at fitness in a different way.
What inspired you to start StrongAsKell?
StrongAsKell was honestly built from a season of my life where I didn’t feel safe in my own body anymore. I was burnt out, anxious, disconnected, constantly pushing myself, and I realized so many women were silently feeling the same way.
The fitness industry often teaches people to punish themselves into change, but I wanted to create something completely different, a space where people could feel supported while becoming stronger mentally, emotionally, and physically.
StrongAsKell became the place I once needed. A place where movement feels empowering instead of overwhelming. A place where women and men can rebuild their relationship with themselves, their bodies, and their routines in a way that actually feels sustainable and healing.
It’s not just about workouts for me. It’s about helping people feel more safe, consistent, confident, and connected to themselves again.
Can you please give me a run down of the services you offer as well as pricing?

“Reset. Restore. Rebuild.” philosophy.

• Glow Up Sundays — a reset-style class designed to help clients refresh mentally and physically before the new week
I also host the FAST AS KELL Run Club, which has become such a special community experience focused on movement, connection, and feeling good.
What does your wellness routine look like?
My wellness routine has changed a lot over the years. I used to think wellness meant constantly pushing harder, but now my routine is much more focused on regulation, balance, and consistency.
A typical day for me usually includes movement (strength training, walking, or running), high-protein nourishing meals, hydration, sunlight, nervous system support, and intentional quiet moments throughout the day.
I love running, meditation, coffee runs, beach walks, nature, cooking healthy meals, and creating moments that help me feel recharged and grounded instead of overwhelmed.
Honestly, wellness for me now is less about perfection and more about consistency and checking in with myself: “What would help me feel supported today?”

What is your advice to women who need to get started on their health journey?
Start smaller than you think you need to.
I think so many women believe they need to completely change their life overnight in order to become healthier, and that mindset usually leads to burnout and inconsistency.
Your health journey does not need to begin with punishment. It can begin with care.
Focus on creating safety and trust with yourself first. Drink more water. Go on walks. Add protein to your meals. Sleep more. Move your body because you love it, not because you hate it.
And most importantly, stop waiting until you feel “ready.” Confidence and motivation are built through action, not before it.
Healing and growth happen through small choices repeated consistently over time. That’s where the real transformation lives.
