It seemed like January was a long and cold month between healing from my sprained ankle, the artic tundra that is currently Connecticut weather conditions, and the snow. I am so glad that we’ve gotten through the violent cold conditions, and now are in the stretch for winter.
That being said, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the things that got me through the month of January.
Conditions of Will by Jessa Hastings: I could not put this book down no matter how hard I tried. Jessa Hastings is such a mixed bag when it comes to authors that I like. I did not enjoy Magnolia Parks, but I loved this one. This book was about Georgia who went back to her family home after the sudden passing of her father. Georgia has had a horrible relationship with her father and her family and the only one that was ever on her side was her brother Oliver, who was cast out for being gay. This novel explores the family messiness and fragility that is family life, and was amazing to read. I highly recommend this one.
J Crew Bucket Bag: This bag is one hundred percent worth the hype. I love the leather, capacity, and the way it just effortlessly fits over the shoulder. J Crew has been a brand that I’ve been obsessed with these days, and this one is no exception. I love everything about this bag, and I highly recommend it.
J Crew Rollneck Sweater. I have bought three color ways of this sweater, and it’s just so so so good. First of all, the materials of this are what stands out for me. It’s 100 percent cotton, which makes it worth it for me because I am trying to stay away from polyester. This sweater is just easy and effortless. It looks good with jeans. It looks good with leggings and it looks good for work. I know we still have a month or so of sweater season left, so I recommend this one.
David Yurman Necklace: I bought this for myself for Christmas, and I really haven’t taken it off that much. I love that it goes with practically everything that I wear. It also is two-toned, which is something that I have been enjoying pairing with both my silver and my gold pieces.
Electric Picks Earrings: Moriah Robinson influenced me to get these, and they do not disappoint. I have worn them pretty much everyday since I got them. They are so comfortable. They have become my go-to earring, so much so that I even got the gold pair as well. Electric Picks has been hitting so hard with their drops these days, so I am sure that these will be on repeat for the rest of the year.
